One particular giant—a true Alberta monarch—kept slipping away just before Lee could close the gap. The wind, terrain, and deer’s instincts all played a role in keeping him out of reach.
Then, on the fourth day, everything fell into place. The buck was bedded in a perfect spot, with just enough cover for a careful stalk. Lee moved in, inching closer with each careful step. At 40 yards, he drew back his Mathews Lift X, took a deep breath, and let the arrow fly.
The shot was perfect. The buck bolted, but it didn’t take long before he slowed and went down. A giant Alberta mule deer, taken with precision and patience. The excitement was off the charts as Lee walked up to the incredible buck, a true testament to the hard work and dedication that goes into every hunt.
