I’ve had my eye on this buck since summertime, watching him grow and hoping to get a chance at his sheds. Just before a big snowstorm rolled in, I decided to glass some open country where I knew he spent time. I pulled out my Leupold binos and started scanning, hoping for a glimpse of something white or tines sticking up through the snow.
And there it was. From 250 yards away, I spotted a shed lying in the frozen landscape, partially buried but still unmistakable. I couldn’t get there fast enough! The anticipation of walking up to a big shed is something every shed hunter knows—your heart pounds, your excitement builds, and then finally, you pick it up. And let me tell you, this one did NOT disappoint!

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m “long arming” in this pic, but even without the camera trick, this shed is massive! A clean 6-point side scoring 78 6/8 inches—that’s about as big as they come! 🤯🤯🤯 Finding a shed of this caliber is rare, and I couldn’t be more pumped.
There’s just something about whitetail deer that keeps me obsessed year-round. Whether it’s hunting them in the fall or searching for their sheds in the winter, I never get tired of the pursuit. Shed hunting isn’t just about picking up antlers—it’s about learning more about the bucks you chase, understanding their habits, and staying connected to the land. Plus, there’s no better feeling than spotting a big shed glistening in the snow and knowing exactly which buck it came from.

I’m beyond grateful to have found this beauty, and I can’t wait to see what this buck looks like next season. If he puts on even a little more mass, he’s going to be an absolute giant!
For all my fellow shed hunters out there, keep grinding! You never know what’s waiting out there for you. Sometimes, all it takes is a good set of binos and a little patience. Now, bring on more sheds and more big bucks! 🔥🔥🔥
